Hack #1- Sedentary behavior which sees us spending hours together sat in front of a TV or computer is damaging to our health. Put yourself on a simple path to better health. Get up and move around, and be on your feet whenever you can. Working standing up for at least three to four hours a week can greatly improve your health. Standing up more often is after all a minor lifestyle change that is not as difficult as jogging many miles around the park or sweating it out in the gym. If you’re feeling too tired to get off your seat, it’s time to rethink.
Hack #2- Listen to your body and be that smart person who knows their body well. Know your blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol measurements- you need to be aware of how your body feels so you can make out any changes as soon as possible. Find out which foods suit your body and which don’t. Keep yourself informed of your family’s medical history to see if you have heart disease, cancer or any other fatal disease so you can take necessary steps to lower your own chances of developing them.
Hack #3- Shop for natural and unprocessed foods that are real, fresh and generally sold without a branding label. Packaged foods that contain artificial ingredients are not healthy and your body doesn’t need them. Fruit juices and vegetable juices seem to be the most common go-to foods for people transitioning into a healthier way of life. But remember juicing causes the veggies and fruits to oxidise and degrade quicker, thereby reducing any health benefits.
Hack #4- The human body works better in a routine. If you’re looking to maximise your health, try eating at the same time on a daily basis. When you eat at inconsistent times or go to sleep and wake up erratically, the hormone levels in your body are affected. Research studies also show that grazing foods throughout the day can actually lead to diabetes.
