Lincolnshire County Council Broadband Scheme Completion Due in January 2024
The final phase of the Lincolnshire County Council Broadband Program (Contract 3) is currently underway and is anticipated to be finished this month.
16:30 10 January 2024
Before the award of Contract 3, an Open Market Review (OMR) concluded on December 2, 2018, consulting with the market to delineate the current and planned coverage of NGA broadband (capable of delivering download speeds of at least 30 Mbps) within Lincolnshire. The OMR also helped define the Intervention Area for Contract 3.
The validity period of the OMR is 3 years, and since this timeframe has elapsed, it is crucial to re-engage with the market to reassess premises within the Intervention Area that have not yet been planned or built. This ensures that the Lincolnshire Broadband Programme avoids duplicating infrastructure for premises that have received an NGA or superior service commercially (or subsidized) from other providers in the preceding 3 years.
The Lincolnshire Broadband Programme will conduct a single public consultation for 4037 premises within the existing Contract 3 Intervention Area.
The total aid amount granted under Contract 3 was £3.085 million. No additional funds will be invested by the Lincolnshire Broadband Programme, as all necessary NGA broadband infrastructure for Contract 3 will be delivered within the existing contracted funding. The program covers the entirety of Lincolnshire County.
