Velona Systems, an Irish startup, is already making waves by presenting its latest security product for online communication. Described as ‘vaccine’ for threats, the product is said to be the first SIP threat-focused service for any third party voice over internet protocol (VoIP) system.
The product is expected to become extremely popular as we transition from 4G to 5G mobile networks, which will allow billions of devices to connect simultaneously and seamlessly to the internet. The massive number of connected devices could put people at risk if their chosen mobile network is ill-prepared or irresponsible, the company has claimed.
Thus, Tony Friar, Velona’s CTO, says telephone companies and tech firms need to work together “to ensure we do not sleepwalk our way into the same level of malware attacks we are seeing in the wider Cyberspace today.”
Customers can use Velona’s system to fight denial of service attacks and toll fraud because it is designed to detect abnormalities. The Velona SIP security programmes automatically block calls from illegal SIPs or report the potential intrusion.
