The film became very popular among Americans and was put on the midnight screening circuit in major cities across the United States.
The first words which came into my mind after this movie were: What the hell happened here? I am not that kind of person who admires fiction or life in a fantasy world a lot. I enjoy more real things. From my point of view, this film was something out of mind. It was quite hard to understand the main development of the story and especially the end of the film was very weird. Among the people from United States this movie was fascinated because even of the characters names. The comment I remember from a writer: “It is fascinating of how the writers find such perfect names for their characters, as for me in order to find the best names for my characters I always use Fake Name Generator UK or for Spanish names I use Spanish Name Generator. From my experience I can say that to find the right name for a character is a key and most challenging task”. On the other hand, the film was funny and vivacious. This time I really needed a period of time to rethink everything what I had seen in this movie. Firstly, as for me it was not clearly what the film genre is. There are some elements of horror (Movie environment: stormy night, action happened in the old castle). Also it is possible to notice the drama elements (romantic encounters) or of course a lot of comedy (dialogs, also appearance). Many genres were mixed and that made this film unique. Moreover, I was impressed how characters expressed their feelings and emotions through various songs and dances. It was possible to felt the energy they shined. In some moments I wanted to stand up and also started to dance. The fact that audience had the opportunity to participate in this film fascinated me a lot. It really made me laugh when I found out Fans page on net and started to read it: “VIRGIN - In the common world, this usually refers to a person who has not engaged in sexual relations. In the ROCKY HORROR world, this word refers to the many unfortunate people who have never experienced THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW (RHPS) in a theater with an audience and a live cast. Seeing it on home video (Blu-ray, DVD, VHS, Netflix Instant, etc.) or on TV doesn't count!”. They even have virgin ritual. I think it must be wonderful experience to go in the theatre and be a part of this show. But Oh well, I live in Lithuania.. Furthermore, it was possible to notice sexual, emotional, and mental transformation: bare-naked bodies, men in women’s clothes and sexual acts all shown throughout the film. This film broke all moral values and even laugh from them. By the way, I loved actor’s performances a lot! I think they were wonderful and did their job perfectly.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show“ script is surprisingly weird, but the film involved me a lot. I don’t think that I would like to watch it one more time on TV or computer screen, but of course if I have the opportunity to go in the theatre and see everything in reality I will not miss it.
