Casino Royale (2006)
This 007 movie is a remake of the 1973 version by the same name and is set at the Le Casino Royale in Montenegro. It’s one of the most revered from the James Bond series, as it gives an accurate peek into the wealth, class, and risk of the high stakes gambling world. Daniel Craig portrays the legendary MI6 agent, James Bond on a mission to foil the plans of Le Chiffre, a banker for several international criminal organisations, from making huge winnings at Texas Hold’Em. Winning the Poker tournament would dry up the coffers of many of these criminal organisations, and leave them with no money to operate. Of course, as a 007 movie, you can expect the usual mind tricks, violence, and pace.
Runner Runner (2013)
Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck star in this movie that revolves around the story of a student who has gambled all the money for college and, in an attempt to recover the sum, ends up working for an online casino manager. The businessman, impressed by his mathematical talent, decides to take him under his wing and teach him secrets and strategies on online casino betting. For all ordinary mortals, there is www.ukcasino.xyz to give advice and reveal the tricks. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
This classic garnered a cult following, based on the performance of Johnny Depp as Hunter Thompson, a journalist on a psychedelic road trip to Vegas with his lawyer. Hunter is a sportswriter who enjoys doing drugs, so he decides that Sin City would be an excellent place to cover a sports event. He spends much of his money on drugs and goes on an adventure to get his version of the American dream. On the way, he encounters hitchhikers, drug dealers, police officers, and, of course, gamblers. The movie doesn't show the bright and glamorous side of Las Vegas, but the unhinged and perilous one that's a long way from the American dream.
Rain Man (1988)
After discovering that his father only left him a rose in his will, Charlie Babbitt (played by Tom Cruise) meets his estranged, older brother, Raymond (played by Dustin Hoffman). Raymond happens to be an autistic savant, so Charlie goes with him to Las Vegas, where he hopes they'll make money counting cards at the Blackjack tables and strike massive winnings. Rain Man provides some insight into the grey areas in which players utilise a variety of strategies to push the odds in their favour. The theme is that, however talented you are, you should keep your strategies within the confines of the law. It also shows the lengths that you can expect even the best casinos to go to protect their edge on chance-based games.
Ocean’s Eleven (2001)
With a legendary cast that includes Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, and George Clooney, you're guaranteed to have a blast. This highly rated movie follows the story of Danny Ocean, a professional thief who's on a mission to rob his rival, Terry Benedict's casinos for $150 million. These are none other than Las Vegas' very best— MGM Grand, the Mirage, and the Bellagio. A combination of the serious plot with witty and hilarious references gives this action-packed movie a fantastic vibe.
The Hangover (2009)
The saying what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas has never successfully been illustrated as in this top casino comedy. In the movie, three friends, Stu, Phil, and Alan, travel to Las Vegas to throw a bachelor party for Doug. They have a wild time, only to wake up the next morning to realise that the groom is nowhere to be found.
